RST Net has extensive experience in installing and renewing equipment in substations, both traditional and digital substations, as well as auxiliary and control equipment.
RST Net carries out underground cable laying, installation and connection work for distribution and transmission lines. Our construction department has also undertaken the installation and connection of powerful heat pumps.

CONNECTION FORCE
AIS (Air Insulated Substation)
GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear / Digital Switchgear).
RST Net has extensive experience in installing equipment in both gas and air insulated substations and has been involved in the installation of many of the largest substations in the country. Among the substations that RST NET has installed are gas insulated substations in Vatnsfellsvirkjun, Sultartangivirkjun, Fljótsdalsstöð.
RST Net has either worked on the installation of equipment as a subcontractor to the substation manufacturer or as a main contractor where RST Net has handled the design, construction of foundations, procurement of equipment and installation.
RST Net works with the Swiss engineering firm KEK, which specializes in control and protection equipment in digital substations, and now RST Net is the leading expert in Iceland when it comes to digital substations. We are responsible for programming the equipment and have test equipment (FAT) at our headquarters in Álfhella.
Among the digital substations that RST Net has been involved in installing are, for example, Lækjartún, Korpa, Njarðvíkurheiði and Blanda.
High voltage connections
RST Net carries out underground cable laying and installation and connection work for distribution and transmission lines.
RST Net has both A and B certification for electrical work at high and low voltage facilities, and a number of employees have experience and qualifications for connecting high voltage cables, up to 145 kV.
Power plants
RST Net undertakes all aspects of installing equipment in the electrical and mechanical parts of power and industrial plants.
RST Nets' largest project in power plants was the installation of all mechanical and electrical equipment in Vatnsfellsvirkjun as the main contractor for GE Hydro.
